Jim Stoppani, PhD
Jim Stoppani received his doctorate in exercise physiology with a minor in biochemistry from the University of Connecticut. Following graduation, he served as a postdoctoral research fellow in the prestigious John B. Pierce Laboratory and Department of Cellular and Molecular Physiology at Yale University School of Medicine, where he investigated the effects of exercise and diet on gene regulation in muscle tissue. He was awarded the Gatorade Beginning Investigator in Exercise Science Award in 2002 by the American Physiological Society.
Currently, he serves as senior science editor for Muscle & Fitness, Muscle & Fitness Hers and Flex magazines and is a science consultant for numerous companies. He has written hundreds of articles on exercise, diet and health and is author of the book Encyclopedia of Muscle & Strength (Human Kinetics, 2006), co-author of the chapter “Nutritional Needs of Strength/Power Athletes” in the textbook Essentials of Sports Nutrition and Supplements (Humana Press, 2008), co-author of the book Stronger Arms & Upper Body (Human Kinetics, 2008), co-author of the sequel to the New York Times Bestseller, LL Cool J’s Platinum Workout (Rodale, 2007), LL Cool J’s Platinum Nutrition (Rodale, 2009) and contributor to Mario Lopez’s Knockout Fitness (Rodale, 2008).

Joe Klemczewski, PhD
Dr. Klemczewski received his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from the Indiana University School of Medicine. While working as an orthopedic outpatient physical therapist, he continued his education by earning a Masters and Doctorate in health and nutrition related fields. Along the way, he also studied for and passed the renowned Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist examination with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).
